Ananda Henna is ME!! Sue Clover
I
discovered henna about 5 years ago at a Renaissance
Festival, and have been fascinated ever since! After
about 2 years of having henna done to me, I decided
to start doing it myself, and thanks to the wonderful
information on the internet, specifically www.hennapage.com
& www.mehandi.com, I launched into the wonderful world
of the henna artist. (Thanks CCJ!)
Thanks to the internet, I count as
my friends and mentors some of the smartest and most
creative henna artists in the world. In May 2004 many
of us got together for the Serious Las Vegas Henna Conference,
where we spent a huge amount of time learning more about
the history of henna, it's properties, chemistry and
the process by which it stains the skin. We explored
the techniques of gilding and embellishment, and tested
new sealing techniques. Time was also spent covering
our responsibilities regarding tax reporting and the
IRS. (Not nearly as interesting as henna itself, but
just as important.)
I
have also been certified by ICNHA (International Certification
for Natural Henna Artists), a voluntary peer assessment
for Henna Artists.
The objective of this certification
program is to test and certify henna artists' understanding
of the fundamental principles of henna, skin, hygiene,
safety, culture and traditions.
I use only safe, natural henna. My
henna paste is made from pure henna powder, lemon juice,
sugar, and may contain one or more of these essential
oils: cajeput, cardamom, lavender, or tea tree.
I would love to henna for you!! I
am available for festivals, private parties, weddings,
and for individual appointments.
